Andrew Murray Driver Training has been providing category ‘B’ training to drivers in Sligo, Manorhamilton and Dromahair since 1996. Andrew is an RSA approved driving instructor (ADI). He is a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists & RoSPA since 2003 and specialises in beginner, pre-test and advanced level. He ensures that all his customers are skilled drivers – not just on test day, but for life. Andrew can provide CPC training. He endeavours to keep things simple when it comes to learning to drive. Andrew provides a 6 day, door to door service to drivers of all skill levels. Rather than telling his pupils what they are doing when they are driving and bombarding them with technical detail, he requests that his pupils think about what they are doing while they are driving. Andrew has found this technique to be very successful in helping pupils learn to drive properly, especially in the case of nervous drivers.

Andrew Murray School Of Motoring covers the test routes that are taken for the driving test centre in Sligo town. Pupils are normally collected for their driving lessons at a place that is most convenient for them. The driving school also offers a door to door collect and return service for pupils around Sligo town and Manorhamilton. Andrew currently uses a 191 ford fiesta 1.5 DTI. The features of the car includes air conditioning, reversing sensors and break assist which prevents the car from rolling back on an incline. This modern dual controlled car is offered to pupils for taking their driving lessons and this car can also be rented by pupils to sit their driving test – when test ready. Pupils can also take lessons in their own car once they are deemed competent and their vehicle is both roadworthy and road legal. Driving lessons are offered seven days per week, during daylight hours with the exception of the EDT night time driving lesson.

The school provides standard, pre-test, mock driving test lessons and the full EDT course. Learner drivers of all levels and even fully qualified and occupational drivers requiring advanced driving lessons are catered for. Complete beginners and nervous drivers start their driving tuition in a quiet area away from traffic where they learn the basics of car control such as stopping and starting. The rate at which a pupil progresses is down to their individual ability and each pupil is allowed progress at their own pace. Pupils preparing for their driving test are assessed during a pre-test lesson and depending on their requirements a course of lessons is tailored to ensure they are fully prepared for their driving test.
